Muthaiga is a residential area 4 kilometres north of Nairobi’s Central Business District. The locale is largely residential, though some developments such as shopping malls, hospitals and schools will also be found here. The main road traversing the area, Muthaiga Road, covers a stretch of 3 kilometres and connects two major roads, Thika Road and Limuru Road.

Muthaiga has a number of facilities for shopping, entertainment and amenities. Some of the shopping centers are the Muthaiga Mini Market, Muthaiga Shopping Centre, Caltex Plaza, Muthaiga Country Club, Muthaiga Golf Club to the east of Karura Forest. Karura Forest is adjacent to Muthaiga and forms a good alternative for jogs, running and picnics for residents of Muthaiga. The wide green streets provide a relaxing climate for morning and evening jogging and walks.
